The Caroline M. Hewins Scholarship, established in 1926 by the Hartford Public Library, awards $4,000 annually to a student planning to specialize in library work with children, especially in public libraries. Applicants must have a four-year degree and be applying to or enrolled in an ALA-accredited library school. The scholarship is open internationally.
To apply, submit the application form, transcript, resume, proof of acceptance or enrollment, and two letters of recommendation. Applications must be mailed, not emailed or faxed. Notification happens in November or December.
