2026 Infinite Sums Rural & Small Libraries Cohort Grant Program

Deadline: September 30, 2025

Applications are open for the Infinite Sums Rural & Small Libraries Cohort Grant Program, supported by the Simons Foundation, as part of its Infinite Sums initiative and offered in partnership with SciStarter and The Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL).

Fifteen library workers will be selected to receive $10,000 each to host community-wide, math-inspired events on: Pi Day (3/14/26), Infinity Day (8/8/26), and Fibonacci Day (11/23/26).

Cohort members will join monthly virtual trainings, two in-person gatherings (NYC in Jan. 2026 and ARSL 2026 in Montgomery, AL), and gain resources to inspire their communities as math ambassadors.

Eligibility: U.S. public libraries serving small or rural communities (populations under 25,000 or 10+ miles from a city that size). Larger service areas are eligible if no nearby town exceeds that size.  ARSL membership and nonprofit status are not required.
