This grant is for rural public library staff interested in bringing STEM learning opportunities to their communities. Grants will be awarded to 110 rural public libraries for $3,500 and access to public program materials, books, professional development, ongoing programming support, and an online peer-to-peer community.
Rural Gateways is a national research-based project funded by the National Science Foundation, with numerous partners and will include online professional development to help library staff plan and co-facilitate STEM library programs in their communities with a local partner.

This grant supports participants who broadly represent public librarians working in US rural communities and supports those who have little or no experience in leading STEM programs for adults. They will provide skill-building support and materials needed to participate in the project. In addition to the mini-grant of $3500, grantees will have ongoing opportunities to connect virtually and via interactive learning webinars with other librarians participating in the project to build skills for planning STEM programs and engaging your community through partnerships.
