Deadline: March 21, 2016

Submit your project ideas to the Knight News Challenge: Libraries. This is an open call for ideas focused on advancing libraries to better serve individuals and communities in the 21st century. This competition is open to nonprofits, for-profits or individuals. Share your idea, why you think it is a good one and how you and your team will make it happen. Winners receive funding and support from Knight Foundation to help advance their ideas.

$3 million dollars will be awarded; the typical award amount for the Knight News Challenge ranges between $200,000 and $500,000, but it varies with each project and contest. At this first stage of the contest, they do not ask for a budget request— that occurs during the second review phase with selected semifinalists when participants have the opportunity to refine their submission during two review phases.
