Funder: Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Walmart distribution centers
Purpose: Spark Good Local Grants support projects that address demonstrated community needs and benefit the service area of a participating Walmart facility. Example projects might support literacy, digital inclusion, workforce development, accessibility, food access, emergency preparedness, community engagement, or other clearly defined local programs.
Award: $250–$5,000.No matching funds are required. Organizations may apply to multiple facilities when the proposed project benefits each facility’s service area.
Eligibility: Government entities, 501(c)(3) public charities, and qualifying schools and colleges. Public libraries may apply through their city, county, district, or other eligible government entity. Nonprofit libraries, library foundations, and Friends groups may apply if they meet Walmart’s 501(c)(3) requirements. School libraries may apply through an eligible public or nonprofit private K–12 school, charter school, school district, college, or university. Schools must have an NCES number or qualifying 501(c)(3) status.
Applicants must create a Walmart Spark Good account and be verified by Deed, Walmart’s third-party verification service provider, before applying. Verification requires organizational and banking documentation, so begin the process well before the deadline.
