Funder: American Library Association (ALA), in collaboration with Cummins Inc.
Purpose: A Year of STEM will support 25 public libraries in providing 12 months of early-childhood STEM programming. Selected libraries receive a programming guide, professional development, four STEM kits delivered throughout the year, and support from ALA's Public Programs Office. Participating libraries will implement STEM programs from February 2027 through January 2028.
Award: 25 libraries will each receive a $5,000 programming stipend, four STEM kits, professional development, a programming guide, promotional materials, and ongoing support.
Eligibility: U.S. public libraries, including tribal libraries. Libraries should review the guidelines for project requirements and expectations before applying.
