Funder: National Endowment for the Humanities
Award: $50,000–$100,000 for planning projects; $100,001–$350,000 for implementation projects by one organization; and $350,001–$500,000 for collaborative implementation projects. Approximately 50 awards are expected. No cost sharing or matching funds are required.
Eligibility: U.S. nonprofit organizations, accredited public and nonprofit institutions of higher education, state and local governments and their agencies, and federally recognized Tribal governments. Eligible applicants include libraries, archives, museums, and other organizations responsible for humanities collections.
Purpose: The Collections Stewardship program supports projects that preserve and increase access to physical and digital humanities collections. Eligible activities include preservation planning and assessments, conservation, digitization, cataloging and description, improving established digital resources, and providing collections-stewardship education and training.
