YALSA Dollar General Teen Read Week Grant

Deadline: June 1, 2017

Through funding from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, YALSA will offer ten $1,000 grants to recognize outstanding Teen Read Week activities from its members.

The applicant must plan and present an outline for a Teen Read Week activity that is coordinated by a library. The 2017 event will be held Oct. 8 - 14th, featuring the theme 'Unleash Your Story. The activity must be open to all teens (12-18 years) and incorporate programming best practices as outlined in YALSA's Teen Programming Guidelines. YALSA encourages innovative proposals that are inclusive of under-served teen populations. Individual library branches within a larger system are welcome to apply. Libraries should be located within 20 miles of a Dollar General store (see Dollar General's Store Locator). Recipients will be announced the week of July 10, 2017.
